Berryburg — A native of Mexico was sentenced to prison time Monday for a 2008 shooting in Clarke County that left one man dead and another injured. — Judge John Wetsel Jr. sentenced Jose Cuevas-Gonzalez, 57, on Monday in Clarke County Circuit Court to 34 years with 23 years suspended. — Cuevas-Gonzalez entered Alford pleas of guilty in March to voluntary manslaughter, malicious wounding and use of a firearm while committing malicious wounding.
