Mexican bank robber gets 114 months in the joint

A Mexican national who had pleaded guilty to the armed robbery of an Albuquerque bank earlier this year was sentenced Monday in federal court in Albuquerque to 114 months in prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced in a news release. — Edwin Vismar Urena-Hernandez, 24, of Sinaloa, Mexico, will be deported after he completes his prison sentence, the news release said. — The news release said Urena-Hernandez had pleaded guilty on June 13 to armed bank robbery and using a firearm in relation to a crime of violence in connection with the March 10 robbery of the Bank of the West branch at 1422 Carlisle Blvd. in Albuquerque… Read More
