Two men were arrested after a Hays County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a pickup truck with at least 260 pounds of marijuana, authorities say. — On July 28, Deputy Jay Wheeler pulled over a gray Ford pickup at the intersection of Texas 21 and Gristmill Road in Uhland. While Wheeler made contact with the truck’s passenger Fernando Lopez Rivera, 35, the driver Pedro Alvarado-Martinez, 37, sped off in the truck, the sheriff’s office says. — Wheeler picked up chase as the truck fled onto FM 2720 toward Lockhart from Texas 21.
