3 Mexicans caught smuggling over 1,500 pounds of weed aboard panga

Three men suspected of smuggling more than 1,500 pounds of marijuana by sea were arrested after Border Patrol agents caught them landing near San Onofre State Beach, authorities said. — Agents caught the three men, who they identified only as Mexican nationals, as they unloaded 21 bundles containing about 1,543 pounds of marijuana from a panga-style boat, according to a written release from U.S. Border Patrol. — National Guardsman first spotted a boat w ithout navigation lights along the coastline near Camp Pendleton about 4 a.m. Saturday, authorities said.
